Course Description Recommended Prior Learning

Year 9 and/or Year 10 Media would be helpful, however no prior experience is necessary. Please talk to the Media teachers if you have any questions!


Media Production          

Students will gain foundational knowledge of Media theory and narrative storytelling techniques before embarking on a short-film production project. They will utilise industry-standard methodologies and processes, including pre-production planning, script development, storyboarding, culminating in the filming and editing of a refined final film.

Students can go solo for this project or in a group of up to four students.

Career pathways for media production include roles such as:
Film and television producer, director, video editor, cinematographer, screenwriter, sound designer, broadcast engineer, multimedia specialist, and production manager.

Opportunities also exist in areas like:
Digital content creation, podcasting, social media management, virtual reality production, advertising, and media consulting.
